5 Games That Require the Best PCs to Run

5 Games That Require the Best PCs to Run

The console versus PC debate has been the ongoing talk for many gamers and has never been resolved.

Although we think that the argument is rather moot as both platforms have their pros and cons, which ultimately boils down to the gamers’ preference being the deciding factor.

That being said, there is one thing that will always give console gamers an edge over the PC master race: they don’t have to worry about system requirements.

Here are some games that require gamers to have a more-than-decent PC to operate.

New World Games That Need Good PC

1. New World (2021)

Despite infamous rumours of New World potentially breaking graphic cards, New World is seen by many as the next big MMORPG.

Unlike games of a similar genre, New World is extremely demanding, more so when compared to the likes of MapleStory or Ragnarok Online which you can run on a potato PC.

Hence, if you’re into the next-generation style of monster raiding and hard-fantasy, you probably would need to upgrade your specs to ensure that the game runs smoothly.

The requirements for New World are:-

CPU: min. i5-2400 or an AMD CPU with 4 physical cores @ 3Ghz

Memory: At least 8GB of RAM

Minimum Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 670 2GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 or better

Red Dead Redemption Games Need Good PC

2. Red Dead Redemption 2 (2019)

RDR 2 has many great things and one of them is that even on medium to low settings, the game is still gorgeous to look at.

However, if one were to max out every aspect of the visual settings, you might need to prepare yourself with a good gaming rig.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the few games that properly make use of the ray tracing in the RTX graphic cards and with that option enabled, the game takes realism to a whole different level.

Problem is, getting an RTX graphics card is a pain nowadays and even if you do find a good deal, it would do well to keep in mind that you will be paying a steep price in the current climate.

The requirements for Red Dead Redemption 2 are:-

CPU: min. i5-2500K / AMD FX-6300

Memory: At least 8GB of RAM

Minimum Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB or better

Cyberpunk 2077 Games Need Good PC

3. Cyberpunk 2077 (2020)

It is probably expected that an open-world dystopian future game would also require a top-of-the-line gaming PC to run.

Of course, you could make a case that the game can be run with an RX 470 but be warned that you would be cutting a LOT of corners and you won’t be enjoying the game to its full potential.

Therefore, if you really want to fully experience the game with the best settings and at decent framerates, do make sure that you have the necessary specs to run it.

The requirements for Cyberpunk 2077 are:-

CPU: min. i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310

Memory: At least 8GB of RAM

Minimum Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 / AMD Radeon RX 470 or better

Control Games Need Good PC

4. Control (2020)

Similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, Control is a game that excels by utilising the ray tracing technology of modern GPUs.

Control prides itself with its immersive environment that is drop-dead gorgeous, plus gameplay effects that are very cinematic.

And even if you were to run this game without ray tracing or with the bare minimum requirements, you would probably still need a good PC to prevent FPS drops.

The requirements for Control are:-

CPU: min. i5-4690 / AMD FX 4350

Memory: At least 8GB of RAM

Minimum Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 / AMD Radeon R9 280X

Microsoft Flight Simulator Games That Need Good PC

5. Microsoft Flight Simulator

Being an actual pilot requires you to have top-notch qualifications, and to be a pilot in the gaming world, you would need to have a top-notch qualified PC.

Unlike the games we’ve mentioned, Microsoft Flight Simulator is more CPU demanding than it is GPU intensive. This means that your PC would probably need a capable processor to ensure that the game can run smoothly.

And when we say it’s CPU-intensive, it doesn’t mean that you can run the game with a low-end CPU; and if you are planning to do so, you might be in for some performance issues.

The requirements for Microsoft Flight Simulator are:-

CPU: min. i5-4460 | AMD Ryzen 3 1200

Memory: At least 8GB of RAM

Minimum Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 770 | AMD Radeon RX 570

Luckily, most pre-built PCs or modern rigs are pretty much capable of running these games decently. Also, all the games mentioned above are available from Steam, and you can get some wallet codes here on OffGamers with ease!
