The MWC 2016 is the biggest trade show for a lot of big companies to showcase their latest gadgets and smartphones. We take a look at 5 gadgets that every tech enthusiast should keep an eye out in MWC 2016.
1. Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
Samsung’s latest flagship phone has been getting attention for its complete overhaul of design from a primarily plastic body into a metal and glass construction. With the return of waterproofing and expandable storage via microSD card slot, the Galaxy S7, and S7 Edge should definitely be on the lookout for Samsung fans.
2. LG G5
LG’s latest flagship phone, the G5 aims to stand out from its Korean rival with its unique modular designed phone. The G5 will sport a metal body, 5.3in quad HD screen, fingerprint scanner, and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. But what makes the G5 unique is its ability to remove the bottom part of the phone, exposing an expansion port for the battery and allowing consumers to add on battery, accessories, and such, with the modular design.
3. HP Elite X3
HP is entering the smartphone arena again with a flagship phone that aims to be a “do-it-all Windows 10 device” that slots into a laptop device with the HP Mobile Extender accessory. This, in turn, changes the 6in phablet into fully working laptop that’s usable for those on the go. While the smartphone device is able to connect to an external display, keyboard, and mouse, the full experience of the HP Elite X3 is best combined with the Mobile Extender accessory.
4. Cat S60 Thermal Camera Phone
Cat is not well-known for being a smartphone manufacturer but this year’s MWC sees the industrial machinery and clothing brand company adding another entry to their mostly rugged Android smartphones. The Cat S60 packs all the specification for a fair-weathered phone with 5m waterproof depth, ability to withstand falls up to 1.8m protection against shock, heat, dust, salt, and other conditions that are known to damage smartphones. However, it’s the added thermal imaging camera that stands out for the smartphone device.
5. Sony Xperia Ear
The biggest gadget coming from Sony is one of their smallest yet with the Sony Xperia Ear. Sony wants the device to be the personal digital assistance in your ear by allowing it to make calls, give you updates on weather, news, notification on social media and even connects to your schedule.
