Atomic Heart is finally out and from the look of things, this game seems to be a whole lot of fun! Thrown into a utopian environment, you are forced to survive against various hideous beings and trust in this, the combat in this game is crazy addicting.
The thing is, FPS games are usually a hit-or-miss for many. If you are not familiar with the genre, this game can very well be overwhelming. As always, we’ve got your back! Here in this article, we will be sharing some beginner tips that will smoothen your first Atomic Heart journey!
Let’s get started!
Be Aware of Your Energy Meter
Usually, the most reliable weapons you will be using are Energy Weapons. They are really fun to use but these weapons rely on the energy meter so if you are planning to use them, be sure to keep an eye out on the bar.
One way to get leeway from not overspending your energy meter is to apply upgrades to the Energy Management tree. This way, you will have more liberty in using your Energy Weapons without having to constantly worry about your power running out.
Remember, be resourceful with your offensive output because, without ammunition, you will be in a whole world of trouble.
Resetting Puzzles
This is a little bit of a “cheesy” tip because it is a way for the player to avoid difficult puzzles but sometimes, we just really want to progress deeper into the game.
So, if you ever get stuck in a puzzle and you feel the lack of brain juice folwing inside you, you can always opt out of the puzzle and re-enter it to get a different puzzle variant. This is a really convenient method for you to refresh the puzzle and if you’re in luck, you might get an easy one.
Always Scan Enemies
While Atomic Hearts might be an FPS game, it does still have some RPG elements inside it. An example of this is the enemies in this game have their own set of strengths and vulnerabilities. Knowing these two pieces of information will really ease your battles a lot.
As such, it is highly recommended that players scan the enemies whenever they can. This way, you will know which weapon and attacks are most efficient against which type of enemies. It’s really simple to do and making it second nature will greatly benefit you in the long run.
Invest in Energy Weapons
If managing resources isn’t your strong suit then we really suggest making energy weapons your main mode of attack. This is because non-energy weapons use bullets and ammunition is not infinite.
Don’t get us wrong, this is not to say energy weapons have no limit. As we’ve mentioned earlier, energy weapons use an energy meter but it is certainly way more manageable than bullets. Weapons like the Electro Pistol are good weapons for beginners to use as they require less resource management compared to other conventional weapons.
Try to Be as Stealthy as Possible
Sneaking around can give you a pretty nice advantage over your enemies in Atomic Hearts. That said, you need to be on the lookout for surveillance bots roaming around the area. This is when Shok comes into the spotlight and it can take them out fairly quickly.
We would also like to mention that keeping an eye out for the Alarm Level is also quite important. When it reaches a high level, you’ll see your screen flooding with enemies and it will be too much for you to handle. Keep your movements subtle and remember there is grace in avoiding and being stealthy.
The Frost Skill is Great for Crowd Control
Controlling and keeping enemies at bay is a good way for you to get out of a pickle or even to set up for your next attack. If you want to safely execute this, the Frostbite skill is ideal.
Practising freezing your enemies before launching your attacks is a great way for you to ensure that all your attacks land. Plus, if you invest enough points into the Frostbite skill, enemies that are frostbitten will take damage over time giving you some decent chip damage.
