A Closer Look At Genshin Impact’s 2.2 Update
There has been a downpour of updates for Genshin Impact and we’re not complaining. miHoYo should keep them coming and we are loving the fact that they are doing all they can to keep the game fresh and new.
With that being said, the latest 2.2 update introduces a lot of juicy content for us and here are some of the few updates that have caught our eyes.
A New Island: Tsurumi Island
Players will now have another place to explore. Take your adventures to a deeply fogged island where it is said that players would meet many different unprecedented challenges.
Other than that, the contents and details regarding Tsurumi Island are shrouded in mystery, which makes it all the better.
Until the update officially drops, most rumours are just speculation but we’re certainly keeping our hopes up for a new and exciting adventure in Tsurumi Island.
A New Character: Thoma, The Protector From Afar
Thoma will officially be playable, tentatively on the 2nd of November 2021.
Initially revealed as an NPC from the 2.0 update, players will soon be able to get their hands on the Pyro-based character.
Thoma’s primary weapon would be the polearm with a rarity rating of 4 stars. Hence, players would need to push their luck a little if they want to have a shot at this new character.
Appearing mainly as a side character or a helper for the earlier arcs, we hope that making Thoma a playable character would allow his character to be more fleshed out and him taking centre stage in major story plots.
Exclusive Event: Shadow of the Ancients
The Shadow of the Ancients is research-based that will take players around Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma. The event would also be split into 3 phases.
During the first phase:
For the first phase, players will need to use the Ayesha Chaos Prospector to research ancient relics.
During the second phase:
The second part of the event would be a data sampling phase. Using the Pursina Spikes machine, players are required to fix the machine using the General Purpose Directional Conduction Components. These components would need to be collected.
During the third phase:
The final phase of the Shadow of the Ancients event will be combat-driven. The main enemy here is called the Ruin Grader that has a self-repairing mechanism. Hence, the Ruin Grader will come back again once it is defeated.
