A Surprise Release For The Prototype Series Came To PS4 & X1

Prototype, released during the last generation console, is an open world action-adventure game series where players take control of a super powered protagonist with the ability to shapeshift.

Although the Prototype series were well received, it wasn’t exactly a smash hit, which made it strange for Activision to remaster the game, let alone release it without any fanfare in the digital stores for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

A short announcement was posted on Activision’s official blog by Scott Lowe, Activision’s communication’s manager. The short post reads as follows:

“I’m happy to deliver the answer: yes, and it happens today. Available as a digital download via the Playstation Store and the Xbox Game Store, the Prototype Biohazard Bundle includes Prototype and Prototype 2, which have both been updated to feature Full HD rendering, improved framerate, and higher resolution textures and effects.”

As with typical remasters, don’t expect much graphical upgrades for Prototype as the trailer for the Prototype remaster indicates, it’s basically the same game with just a 1080p face-lift.

The Radical Entertainment developed game is selling for $50 which might be pricey to some, but, considering the content, it might be enough for some fans.If you rather buy the game separately, Activision is planning to sell the two titles individually on August 11th.

Prototype Biohazard Bundle

Aside from that, the bundle will include all of the downloadable content retailer exclusive content for Prototype 2, which makes the bundle quite the sizable amount.

If you’ve never experienced or played Prototype on the last generation of consoles, here’s your chance to learn the stories of Alex Mercer and Sgt. James Heller as they cause The Hulk-esque level of destruction in New York.

Prototype Biohazard Bundle is available now digitally on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 for $49.99.
