Could a virtual reality Star Wars experience be in the works? A leaked trailer seems to indicate that Lucasfilm and ILM X Lab are planning to reveal VR game for the HTC Vive called Star Wars: Trials on Tatooine.
The leaked YouTube clip (which is now privately listed), showed off some pretty nifty lightsaber gameplay in glorious graphics that only Lucasfilm is capable of doing. Last year, ILM teased that they were working on a VR experience in collaboration with HTC VIve VR to accompany The Force Awakens’ release. Unfortunately, it never came to fruition due to the fact that HTC Vive hasn’t launched until recently.
If the leaked teaser is true, then we might be seeing the Star Wars: Trials on Tatooine be officially announced when the HTC Vive is already in the market. For now, check out the images that Engadget managed to snap before the clip was taken down.
