Final Fantasy 16 is arguably the most talked about action JRPG of the year and for good reason. Just from the trailer, we can see players getting immense pleasure from it and the graphics are truly drop-dead gorgeous.
As you would expect, this game is filled with content—both main and side parts of the game and today, we’ll be talking a little more about the side part of things. For starters, do you ever wonder why sometimes you are stuck at a certain boss in the main story?
Usually, it is because the player has neglected the game’s sidequests that give you huge benefits, outside and inside of battles. So, before starting your FF16 journey, it is best to know which sidequests you should prioritise and we’re here to help you with that!

Laid to Rest

Quite possibly the easiest sidequest in the game. Literally, there are no battles needed in this quest and after completing it, you’ll get both the Clutchmine and Meteorite.
This main quest starts right after you’ve begun your main mission so although it might sidetrack you a little, the rewards totally justify it. The only gameplay needed from this quest is to bury a ring given to you by the Wounded Royalist and after that, you’ll have your rewards!
The White Winged Wonder

Arguably the most important sidequest. We highly recommend every player to do this because it makes navigation in this game so much easier once you have the mount.
Also, you cannot revisit this quest so when you have the opportunity, do it immediately. Once you’ve got the quest, go ahead and visit Rowan who resides in Martha’s Rest where he’ll ask you to go on a rescue mission to save some Chocobos.
This sidequest isn’t all that difficult and for its rewards, it is a must-do. After completing the quest, you’ll get yourself the Ambrosia mount where you’ll be travelling at a much faster pace.
The Root of The Problem

Potions are invaluable consumables in this game, especially if you are unfamiliar with action-based games. As bosses and enemies get harder you’ll need to rely on them to survive.
This sidequest, “The Root of The Problem”, upon completion, gives you a reward that significantly improves your Potions’ results. The core of this quest is to hunt some Morganbeard Seeds and plant them in Nigel’s garden. Again, a very simple quest to do and the rewards are well worth it.
Plus, the reward not only buffs healing potions but also buff-based ones. So, if you like spamming potions to make your character stronger, this is the side quest for you.
Weird Science

Here’s another quest that players should look to do that will massively improve their utility. Having extra capacity to hold more potions is a game-changer, more so if you are approaching the late game.
Compared to other quests on this list, this quest might be a little harder but not by too much. You will need to finish off the Bomb King to finish this quest but if you’ve made it this far into the game, he shouldn’t be a problem.
Once you’re done, you will be given the Treated Potion Satchel and you’ll be able to hold more potions than normal.
Where There’s A Will
Okay, we admit, reward-wise, this sidequest isn’t exactly the best. However, when it comes to writing and storytelling, it’s up there with the very best. Truly, it is so good that we don’t want to go into details because of spoilers but what we can say is peak melancholy.
As such, if you are tired of playing through the main story and want a nice and serene break, you really should consider this quest. It is very impactful and gives you a lot of motivation to further progress into the game.
Conclusion
So there we have it! These are all our suggestions and the best side quests to prioritise in Final Fantasy 16. Of course, this is not to say that the other quests are not good but if you want to place your focus on a few, these are the ones to do so. They yield the best rewards and can help you significantly in the main game.
