Arcane: Two Sisters. Two cities. One world changing discovery.

Arcane has been hitting the top of Netflix in many countries and this title is based on the world of Riot’s team based strategy game —— League of Legends. The show features nine episodes which are divided into chapters. LoL is fun to play so as the story written in Arcane, but the best part is that you don’t have to know anything about the League to get into it.

The show is the origin story of two League of Legends characters: Jinx and Vi, two sisters who were once separated when they were young in the undercity, Zaun. In Arcane, the story focus around two cities: the gleaming City of Progress Piltover and the undercity district of Zaun. The world starts moving as two cities’ new invention threatens revolution.

From a spin-off game of LoL, the card game Legends of Runeterra, Piltover and Zaun are deeply interlinked and both cities are often in conflict due cultural and living conditions differences. This lore has been adapted into the breathtaking animation Arcane. In the show, the tensions between two cities boil as new invention threaten revolution. In Piltover, Hextech allows anyone to control magic; In Zaun, Shimmer, a new drug transforms human into monster.

Voice cast for League Of Legends Arcane revealed

With the backstory and relationship of League’s famous champions being built in Arcane, peace start shattering as citizens start to rage and riot. They have to step up to stop the cause or else they can kiss goodbye to the place they once called home.

Starring League’s most popular characters (Vi, Jinx, Jayce, Caitlyn, Viktor, Heimerdinger), the show serves mostly as an origin story for the them in a complex world filled with moral decisions. It doesn’t expect you to already know who they are, while there are ester eggs to be found by the fans and an opportunity to see how the characters came to be.
