Be The Batgirl With The Upcoming Arkham Knight DLC: A Matter of Family

The first substantial DLC for Arkham Knight is on its way and Warner Bros gave us a taste with a new trailer showcasing the main character that gamers will be playing on the DLC, Batgirl: A Matter of Family.

The Batgirl-centric DLC will be the first time that players will see Barbara Gordon, AKA Oracle in the Arkham series, in her full Batgirl suit for the first time. Taking control of Batgirl will give players new sense of combat and problem solving that only Barbara Gordon can do with her level of technological expertise.

It is worth mentioning though, that the DLC was made by WB Games Montreal, the people who made the good-but-slightly-underwhelming Arkham Origins.

The synopsis for the DLC reads as follows, “When The Joker kidnaps Commissioner Gordon and holds his hostage at the Seagate Amusement Park, Batgirl and Robin must fight against the odds to save him and avoid falling victim to The Joker’s sinister plan,” it continues, “Trained by Batman, Batgirl’s combat combines with unparalleled hacking abilities to take-down enemies control objects and solve puzzles.”

Batgirl: A Matter of Family

The prequel story, set before 2009’s Arkham Asylum, brings back the delightfully dreadful Joker with a classically dressed Harley Quinn for an action packed, high-stakes romp to save Batgirl’s father.

The trailer, which clocks in at two minutes, features a good mix of combat gameplay and story-line cutscenes. To see Barbara Gordon in action, kicking goons left and right with Robin, is a far-cry from her usual wheelchair-bound appearance in the Arkham Series.

The DLC is expected to drop on July 14th for season pass owners and will come on July 21st for everyone else as a separate purchase.

Unfortunately, the DLC will not come to PC due to the on-going graphical and technical issues that the game is suffering. Our best bet? It will probably drop to PC once the whole mess is sorted out.
