Are you ready to become the very best, like no one ever was? Well, now it’s time to prove your mettle as a trainer with Pokémon GO, the augmented reality Pokémon game that lets you catch Pokémon in the real world!
Available on Android and iOS devices, Pokémon GO lets you capture iconic Pokémon such as Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle and more via your camera using a nifty AR technology. Basically, how it works is that the app will use your phone’s GPS and clock to determine when and where you are to trigger Pokémon “appearances”, which you can then catch on screen by throwing out Poké Balls.
Here’s a gameplay footage of Pokémon GO in action:
The game is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases for in-game items such as more Poké Balls, potions, and incense to attract more Pokémon. In order to get these items, you’ll need to use their virtual currency, Pokécoins, which you can purchase using real money.
Pokémon GO is available now on Android and iOS on selected regions. A global rollout is expected soon for the rest of the world.
