Could Fallout 3 Be Making Its Way To Current Consoles?

We’ve already gotten news that Bethesda will be rolling out DLCs soon for Fallout 4, but could a remake of the much beloved Fallout 3 be making it’s way to current consoles as well? A report from IGN seems to indicate so.

The IGN Germany report notes that Bethesda had been hard at work in attempting to un-ban Fallout 3 in Germany, where, due to Germany’s strict gaming laws, the game was not able to be officially released. The reason why this is of note is because the cost of processing and requesting Fallout 3‘s removal from the list of “blacklisted” games could cost up to several thousand Euros.

With the council decision to remove Fallout 3 from its “blacklisted” list of games, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bethesda doing something to commemorate Fallout 3‘s ability to be sold in Germany.

When reached for comment, Bethesda responded the following to IGN Germany. “We cannot give a statement at the moment, but will answer your questions in a couple of weeks.”

A re-release or a remake of Fallout 3 would definitely be great marketing for Bethesda as Fallout 4 continues to be a massive hit for the company. Given that we won’t be seeing a Fallout 5 anytime soon, probably until the next console generation, a remake of the game will keep Fallout in the mindshare of gamers.
