Criterion Is Bringing Back Burnout Paradise For Xbox One

Ever since Microsoft announced their backwards compatibility initiative for Xbox One, the list of games that fans want to come from Xbox 360 is pilling up. Add Burnout Paradise to the list of games that’s in the works to make its way to Xbox One.

Criterion Games took to twitter to officially announce their attempt in bringing one of the best arcade driving games from Xbox 360 to the current generation console. The tweet reads as follows, “Yes, we ARE talking to Microsoft about making Xbox 360 Burnout Paradise available on Xbox One via backwards compatibility,” they teased, “More news coming soon!”

Microsoft’s backwards compatibility does not work immediately on all games. The games have to first be enabled by Microsoft in order for it to be played on the Xbox One, which will also enable all features such as online multiplayer.

Burnout Paradise Backward Compatibility

Naturally, this has to be on a case-by-base basis and Microsoft has announced over 100 games that will be playable on Xbox One which includes Mass Effect, Viva Piñata, and Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2.

A recent poll by Xbox looks to find out what games that fans want for backward compatibility. The leading choice seems to be Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption, followed closely by Call of Duty; Black Ops 2 and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

Burnout Paradise Backward Compatibility

Burnout Paradise wasn’t on the list announced, nor was it on the polls by Xbox but it does not means that fans weren’t clamoring for the arcade driving title. Considered as one of the best arcade driving game of the last console generation, Burnout Paradise came to Xbox 360 in 2008 and had built a substantial fan base with its critically acclaimed driving and destruction mechanic.
