Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive introduced cross-console features, including multiplayer matchmaking and a cross-platform friends list. The game’s developer boasts a player base of more than 25 million, so this should significantly expand matchmaking opportunities for console users. Cross-play now encompasses PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, where the survival horror game launched in 2017, 2017, and 2019, respectively.
In Dead by Daylight, one player is a supernatural killer, akin to the major bad guy from a big Hollywood slasher franchise. They hunt the other four, who try to outlast and escape the killer. If they’re caught, the killer initiates a “sacrifice” process from which the victim’s teammates can rescue them (or not). The game has featured several celebrity cameo crossovers in the past year or so, from Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head, to Stranger Things’ demogorgon and Scream’s Ghostface.
