Dead Rising Employees Have Been Hit With Layoffs By Capcom
Capcom has laid off a significant number of employees in its Vancouver office as part of a restructuring, according to an individual familiar with the company as well as various posts on social media.
The company formally stated that the restructuring has been a result of a regular periodic assessment which may have come from the company’s intention to reduce its resources on its upcoming Dead Rising title. About 50 people has been laid off as part of a reorganization.
The unknown title, which was still in prototype stage and had not yet been greenlit, was envisioned as a third-person action-adventure game set in an alternate reality version of New York, the source reported.
