Destiny 2: Beyond Light patch adds new Europa destination and Stasis

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is here, and with it comes a host of changes for players and some new content to explore. With the expansion officially out, Bungie has published the official patch notes, including balance updates and quality of life improvements.

Beyond Light

Destiny 2: Beyond Light adds a new campaign and a new raid — both exclusive to Beyond Light owners — as well as some new Exotics. All players can also adventure to Europa, the icy moon of Jupiter. Players will finally encounter the Darkness here, and meet up with The Stranger, who hasn’t appeared in-game since the first year of the original Destiny.

But Beyond Light also brings players their coolest new toy in years: Stasis.

Stasis powers

Stasis marks the first time Bungie has ever added a new element to Destiny. In addition to the existing Solar, Arc, and Void, Stasis offers ice-themed powers. Players can encase enemies in ice and then shatter them. There will also be new Stasis weapons and Exotics.

Stasis also comes with a revamped customization system, drastically different from the simple nodes available for the current subclasses.

New Exotics

Like all new Expansions and Seasons, Destiny 2: Beyond Light comes with some powerful new weapons. There are a few returning or revamped Exotics from the original Destiny — like Hawkmoon and No Time To Explain — but the majority of weapons are brand new. We’ll also see our first Stasis Exotic, Salvation’s Grip, in this expansion.
