Destiny 2 will be getting a major expansion at the end of 2018, as confirmed by publisher Activision during an Activision Blizzard earnings call.
Developer Bungie also outlined its plans for Destiny 2 in response to player discontent and went into greater detail about what players can expect to see in Destiny 2 through May, when the game’s second expansion is released. However, players had not receive any confirmation about any expansion beyond Curse of Osiris.
In the presentation, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said player attitudes were changing.
We have a great expansion coming in May, and a major expansion coming at the end of the year, and those events have always been opportunities to re-engage our communities and win back people who have churned out. This is an incredibly passionate group of players and that passion is a good thing, even when the sentiment is critical, because it shows how deeply people care about the game. There are also 2 epic adventures on the horizon with Expansion 2 in May and a major content launch later this year. There is magic in the franchise and we are committed to meet our own and our players expectations in the coming quarters.
There’s no doubt Bungie is trying their best to keep their players engaged by making the right changes to improve the experience with this game.
