Diablo Immortal: How to Build The Best Character

Diablo Immortal at OffGamers

Diablo is back! And if you’ve been a fan of the game since the original, you know that the game has evolved and changed drastically over time. However, Diablo Immortal melds the best of each game together to create an immersive experience.

With that said, there are a lot of mixed reviews for the Diablo mobile game.

Some people love it, and others are mad about the mechanics, crossover and the buy-to-win aspect of the game. Yet still, the game is one of the highest-grossing mobile games on the planet – people love it.

Before we dive into how to build the best character, we recommend that you:

Once you’re all set, read the following sections, where we go through each class in great detail.

Diablo Immortal: Best Class Build, Armour, Weapons and Legendary Gems

Barbarians are fierce warriors that walk in and destroy everything. They’re rather easy to play, too. You’ll find that we recommend a build that is focused around boosting the duration of your Wrath of the Berserker by using the right set of gear, namely the Lasting Hate headpiece and the Coming Soon shoulders.

But before we get too ahead of ourselves, let’s take a look at the armour and weapons you will need.

Head: Lasting Hate

Shoulders: The Coming Soon

Torso: Trackers Rage

Legs: Determination of Screaming Fury

Main: Eager Maelstrom

Off Hand: Broken Soul

Legendary Gems

The legendary gems that you’ll find maximize your abilities the most and add to your fortitude, strength and vitality the most are:

  • Berserker’s Eye
  • Ca’arsen’s Invigoration
  • Chained Death
  • Mocking Laughter
  • Seled’s Weakness
  • The Hunger

In Diablo Immortal, you’ll want to be a Barbarian because you can take a ton of damage while also dishing out damage. The one time that being a Barbarian may not be for you is if you prefer playing a support role.

Unfortunately, the Barbarian in the Diablo mobile game is more about attracting aggro and bashing enemies than providing great support.

When playing this character, you’ll want to be in the front of the crowd to take damage.

The build we recommend revolves around you choosing the following skills:

  • Lacerate
  • Furious Charge
  • Hammer of the Ancients
  • Whirlwind
  • Wrath of the Berserker

Of course, you’re free to try out other builds that may match your playstyle the best. The build above is simply the one that most people are using right now. Broken Soul really pushes this build over the edge with its ability to increase crit chance, so you’ll be able to produce some serious output when playing.

Necromancers are a load of fun. Summon the dead, destroy your enemies, and do it quickly. The one downside of these fearsome foes is that they can’t soak the damage that a barbarian or more durable classes can.

However, the build we prefer works on making you less squishy by enhancing your Bone Armor ability.

Let’s take a look:

Head: Skullveil

Shoulders: Synod’s Anointing

Torso: Parting Gift

Legs: Graven Bulwark

Main: Desolatoria

Off Hand: Welcome End

Legendary Gems

For legendary gems, there is just so much to choose from, but we’ve decided that the best options for this build at this moment in time are:

  • Black Rose
  • Chained Death
  • Freedom and Devotion
  • Follower’s Burden
  • Seled’s Weakness

Each of these gems enhances your necromancer, who should focus on intelligence, vitality and willpower to reach its strongest level. As for skills, we chose the following:

  • Bone Armor
  • Command Golem
  • Command Skeleton
  • Skeletal Mage
  • Soulfire

When you add in the gems, you’ll increase your attack bonus and also boost the damage and duration of your summons. By wearing the head and shoulders that we’ve recommended, you’re going to buff up the skeletal mage summon that you have to increase output.

And with your main hand weapon, your golem will become a molten golem that will generate a lot of AOE damage to truly enhance your build.

Do you want to rock out with a massive shield? If so, the Crusader is a class that you’ll enjoy playing. These fighters are able to absorb a ton of damage, but without the right skills, armour and weapon, you’re going to find that the output is severely lacking.

The gear and build that we recommend are going to allow you to increase some of the damage your shield does, rely on shockwave and also punish your enemies using AOEs.

Head:  Questor’s Mien

Shoulders: Barbed Council

Torso: Hungerfire Chiton

Legs: Shieldswathe

Main: The Bristle

Off Hand: Constant Scrutiny

Legendary Gems

Gems are going to try and maximize your skills while also focusing on some of the attributes that are most important to a Crusader. Namely, you’ll want to focus on your fortitude, strength and vitality.

The gems that we find work the best are:

  • Chained Death
  • Defiant Soul
  • Pain of Subjugation
  • Seled’s Weakness

Why would we choose these gems and the gear above?

First off, the gems are going to increase the damage that you do to any enemies that have lost control. Since you have a blind and other abilities, this means increasing overall damage output with your AOEs.

As a Crusader, you’ll also find yourself blocking often to keep your health up and to fend-off foes.

The gem will allow you to deal damage to enemies with each block you make. While the damage is low for the blocking gem, it will allow you to slowly eat away at an enemy’s health and works great when you’re taking on multiple mobs at once.

Questor’s Mien was chosen because it’s really the best option. You’ll be relying on your Shield Charge skill a lot when playing, and this gem will give you more charges.

As for the skills we recommend for this build, you’ll want to choose the following:

  • Judgement
  • Sacred Fire
  • Shield Charge
  • Shield Glare
  • Spinning Shield

You’ll notice the best results when choosing these skills and the associated gear. As you progress and depending on your playstyle, you may find that other sets work best for you.

Monks are an ultra-fun class to play, and we really prefer the “Exploding Monk” build. You’ll find that a lot of people prefer this build because you can buff damage while also reducing a lot of your key cooldowns.

The gear and weapons that we chose for this build are:

Head: Crippling Insight

Shoulders: Disciple’s Weight

Torso: Breath of Incense

Legs: Inner Rhythm

Main: Spirit’s Reach

Off Hand: Reaching Rebuke

Legendary Gems

As always, you’ll want to choose the best gems that you have available. We chose the following gems because they’re somewhat easier to obtain and add to your overall strength, fortitude and vitality when playing:

  • Berserker’s Eye
  • Chained Death
  • Ca’arsen’s Invigoration
  • Devotion
  • Freedom
  • The Hunger

Exploding palm is going to be the main damage producer in our build, which has you taking the following skills:

  • Exploding Palm
  • Fists of Thunder
  • Flying Dragon
  • Mystic Allies
  • Seven-sided Strike

The gems that we’ve chosen focus on boosting your attack speed while also maximizing your damage. The Hunger is a nice addition because when you’re killing opponents, you’re also healing yourself.

You hit faster and harder whilst getting healed, making you a real menace and very difficult to kill.

Mystic Allies will last longer due to the Devotion gem, too. Add in the gear and you’re going to turn your Exploding Palm into an AOE thanks to the addition of the Reaching Rebuke offhand. Disciple’s Weight will further improve the damage of your seven-sided strike, leading to a very powerful character.

Demon Hunter

Demon Hunters look awesome, and when you’re playing in the PvE environment, you’re going to try your best not to be hit while causing a load of damage with your traps and projectiles. We’ve chosen a build and gear that will work to enhance your damage while also providing perks to your evasive gameplay style.

The following is the gear that we’ve chosen, but be sure to look for any new additions that may be better in the future:

Head: Vision of the Lost

Shoulders: Hailstone Shoulders

Torso: Heart of Vengeance

Legs: Ruinous Path

Main: Flamespite

Off Hand: The Hungerer

Legendary Gems

For the legendary gems, we had a lot that we could choose from, but we wanted to really focus on attack speed and damage. Critical strikes are also such a vital part of the Demon Hunter that we focused on boosting them and their effects as well.

The gems that we finally settled on were:

  • Berserker’s Eye
  • Ca’arsen’s Invigoration
  • Chained Death
  • Everlasting Torment
  • Power and Command

And the skills that we chose and boosted through the gear that we picked were:

  • Crossbow Shot
  • Daring Swing
  • Multishot
  • Rain of Vengeance
  • Vengeance

Finally, you’ll find that you want to do everything that you can to boost your overall damage. We focused heavily on Vengeance here, and the gear we’ve chosen increases its damage, reduces the cooldown and also increases its duration when landing a kill.

Rain of Vengeance and Hailstone Shoulders are another perfect pairing because they will allow you to produce a lot of damage while also maintaining the distance between enemies by chilling them.

It’s a really fun build, and with The Hungerer, you’ll find that your projectiles will pierce right through your foes and damage others. When you’re in the middle of a massive battle, you’ll cut down your enemies quickly with this combination.

Wizards are a lot of fun to play, and we’ve chosen to go with the Cryomancer build that will turn your other magical abilities into ice-related abilities. The major advantage of this build is that you can use the icy abilities to slow down your foes, allowing you to maintain sufficient distance while blasting away at their health.

You’ll find that the gear listed above really aids in these goals, and we’ve chosen the following:

Head: Vision of the Frozen Path

Shoulders: Phoenix Mantle

Torso: Starcaller’s Drapery

Legs: Frostwalkers

Main: Electrospike

Off Hand: Azkalor’s Fire

Legendary Gems

Legendary gems that aid this build are somewhat lacking, but we did choose the best of the bunch and went with the following gems:

  • Chained Death
  • Pain of Subjugation
  • Trickshot

The skills that we chose for this build are:

  • Electrocute
  • Ice Crystal
  • Meteor
  • Ray of Frost
  • Scorch

Putting it all together, the gems are really the most important, and you’ll want to focus on getting both Trickshot and Pain of Subjugation first. These ones will help reduce the overall cost of the skills you channel as well as increase the damage to enemies that lose control, and icy does count for losing control.

The mixture of icy into your skills makes playing a Wizard a ton of fun.

You’ll find that Meteor does a lot of extra damage and also causes chill, so you’ll be able to control mobs with a lot greater precision. You also have the Electrospike weapon, which will allow your electrocute ability to jump to other enemies for a powerful combination.

The one key thing to remember is to try and keep your distance from your enemies. Wizards have a lot of damage that they can output, but their major drawback in Diablo Immortal is that they lack survivability. Keep your distance, and you’ll have no issues dispatching your enemies.

Our recommendations are not set in stone.

Many people assume that builds that are considered “the best” cannot be tweaked. You should be having fun playing Diablo Immortal, and you’ll find a lot of builds available that you can tweak or choose.

However, for the beginner player who wants to have an easier time jumping into the game for the first time, the builds outlined above are definitely fun to play. Oftentimes, we focus on survival and output, and when you’re surviving longer and producing more damage, you’ll find that you can slowly kill off foes and make more mistakes in the game.

With that said, experiment, grind and see what works best for you.
