Celebrity actor and martial artist, Donnie Yen, will be the lead role in the upcoming adaptation of 2013’s video game Sleeping Dogs, an action-adventure video game developed by United Front Games and published by Square Enix.
Deadline reported in March that a movie based on the martial arts crime thriller was in development, featuring Yen. Sleeping Dogs is a story about Wei Shen, the video game’s protagonist and an undercover Chinese-American cop who was assigned the task to infiltrate and destroy a triad organization in Hong Kong known as the Sun On Yee.
However, over time he develops deep connections with people in the organization and his allegiances to the police and the Triads are put to the test.
