On the second day of the E3 virtual event, we have lineups from Xbox, Bethesda and Square Enix. What games will these big titles bring us? Let’s find out below. In case you missed out on the E3 livestream, you can watch it here.
Bethesda Softworks kicked off their showcase with Xbox at E3 with a trailer for the upcoming game “Starfield,” set to release on 11 Nov, some real excitement for RPG fans out there. Bethesda’s Todd Howard said that Starfield is about “hope” and the shared humanity we all share. This new game will also be the first on Bethesda’s Creation Engine 2, which promises improved graphical fidelity and other improvements.
They also gave us a fresh look at “Halo Infinite.” Its multiplayer and campaign are both set to release for holiday 2021. Viewers were treated to gameplay footage of the new multiplayer mode — including plenty of grapple hook sizzle reel content — and hinted at what would happen in the story. Cortana, for instance, appears to have been replaced by a new AI.
“Forza Horizon 5” the sequel to the previous game is set to take place in Mexico. The game is set to be the “largest, most diverse Horizon ever,” featuring a world that includes everything from an intimidating, snow-covered active volcano to idyllic beaches to rugged mountain ranges to open desert to a rainforest with ancient ruins. Set to be released on November 9, 2021.
Arkane Studios sure love their vampires. “RedFall” is a new open world co-op FPS game is an Xbox Series X/S console exclusive and the first-look showed various characters battling vampires. RedFall will feature four heroes at launch, including Layla Ellison the telekinetic, Jacob Boyer the sharpshooter, Remi de la Rosa and her robot companion Bribon, and Devinder Crousley the paranormal investigator.
“Diablo 2 Resurrected” is the remastered version of the game and will be released on 23 Sept 2021, those who pre-ordered the game will gain access to the early beta. It will feature 8-player co-op and the game will run at up to 4K/60 FPS.
“S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl” will officially be released on April 28, 2022 and, like all other games presented in the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, will be optimized for Xbox Series X/S.
“Back 4 Blood,” an upcoming first-person shooter from Turtle Rock, the creators of “Left 4 Dead,” will on 12 Oct, with an open beta starting on 5 Aug. The news was first announced during the Summer Games Fest.
“Contraband,” a co-op game about smugglers working together in the 1970s, is coming from “Just Cause” developer Avalanche Studios. The trailer, which featured Steely Dan’s music, announced that the game would be available on Xbox Series X and S.
“The Outer Worlds 2” has officially been announced for Xbox Series X/S, and it is a next-gen-only title. In the trailer, the narrator said the team had not finished the game’s story, gameplay, or any part of the game it could show off besides the title. Stay tuned for more news.
Microsoft worked with Disney to bring Captain Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones to “Sea of Thieves,” in a new campaign called “A Pirate’s Life.” Players must free Jack from prison and battle Davy Jones, popularized by the film “Pirates of the Caribbean 2.” The extra content will arrive on June 22 and is free to players who already bought the game.

“Battlefield 2042” got its first gameplay reveal at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. It gave viewers their first look at how the game looks from the player’s perspective.
For those who love Japanese role-playing games, “Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes”, the upcoming Suikoden spiritual successor, has been delayed to 2023. Eiyuden Chronicle Rising, a spinoff game, was also announced for 2022. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.
“12 Minutes, which features both Daisey Ridley and James McAvoy, will be available on August 19, 2021. This indie game is finally dropping!
Microsoft also dropped a new trailer for “Psychonauts 2,” a sequel to the beloved 2005 title, with a release date of August 25. It’s coming to Xbox, Windows, PlayStation and Xbox cloud gaming, as well as Mac and Linux in the future.
“Microsoft Flight Simulator” will finally arrive on Xbox Series X/S on July 27 alongside a Top Gun-themed expansion that will be tied to the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick.
“Age of Empires 4”, a real-time strategy game will be released on October 28, 2021.
Other games coming to the Xbox Game pass include: Doom Eternal, and it will be getting a next-gen upgrade on June 29, 2021 that will allow the game to run at 60 FPS with Ray Tracing. The Evil Within 2, Rage, Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout Tactics, Dishonored, and Arx Fatalis will also be joining Xbox Game Pass.
