Elite: Dangerous Players Encountered Aliens For The First Time

The Elite: Dangerous universe just got a lot larger and a lot more chilling. Players of Frontier Developments’ space sim made first contact with Thargoids, the game’s insectoid alien race more than a couple of years after Elite: Dangerous was formally released.

The initial meeting with the Thargoids comes from player “DP Sayre” who made the discovery and uploaded clips of his encounter to the Xbox DVR.

As the player’s ship is pulled out of hyperspace, his ship got disabled and a short cutscene kicks-in before the alien ship makes its first appearance.

Frontier Developments confirms the event with this tweet on their official Twitter account:

Numerous Thargoids sightings were reported by redditors here.

Some players even tries to attack the spaceship before it warps away, to no avail. It shields remained completely unaffected.
