Epic Games announced that the company will not be releasing Fortnite’s Android version through the Google Play Store.
In order to download the game, those using Android devices can get it straight from Epic’s website. Epic Games founder, Tim Sweeney, said that the company intend to avoid the 30 percent cut from platform owners such as Google and Steam, that generally takes a cut from in-app purchases. Epic made a similar decision before when the company decided to distribute Fortnite via its own launcher on PC and Mac instead of going through Gaben’s Steam.

Additionally, Fortnite players that wants to use Android devices to play the game will have to download an APK from Epic’s website before downloading the complete game.
