Epic Games Receives $1.25 Billion Cash Injection From Several Investors

Investors from KKR, ICONIQ Capital, Smash Ventures, aXiomatic, Vulcan Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and Lightspeed Venture Partners have invested $1.25 billion into Epic Games.

The aforementioned companies will join Tencent, Disney and Endeavor as the newest minority shareholders in the company. Fornite has proven to be a huge hit in the gaming industry since its release last year. The free-to-play shooter makes money by allowing gamers to purchase costumes, items and virtual currency. The video game company still operates under the guidance of its founder and chief executive, Tim Sweeney. Epic Games is now valued close to $15 billion after receiving the extra funds from multiple investors.
