Eververse Is Destiny’s New Microtransaction Market For Buying Emotes

Did you miss out on getting the emotes that was exclusive to Destiny: The Taken King Legendary Edition? Or just didn’t feel like shelling out $20 for new emotes. Well, looks like Bungie is giving players a chance to pick and choose the cosmetic enhancements that they want with the recently revealed Eververse Trading Company.

Yep. Destiny is getting microtransactions.

On a post from Bungie.net, Destiny‘s all-around community guy Deej announced the inclusion of the Eververse Trading Company with the return of Tess Everis, who will sport a new storefront with new items to sell at the Tower on October 13th. Currently, Bungie will be providing emotes, eighteen of them to be exact, for players to purchase from the Eververse Trading Company.

Bungie made sure to indicate that these purchases from their new store will be completely optional and purely cosmetic. And that It will not “impact the action game in any way.” So players who are worried of a barrier or limitation to missions/events/perks from this new microtransaction won’t have much to worry about.

Of course, the important part of all this is how you purchase it. Well, Bungie has the solution for that by introducing another new currency called “Silver.” The new in-game currency will be available for purchase through the Playstation Store and Xbox Live, depending on your platform of choice. As for the pricing, Deej noted that all of the relevant information will be available once it goes live on Tuesday, October 13th.

On the post as well, Deej noted that the introduction of the Eververse Trading Company was made to “bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events”. Hopefully, this means more content for the next year until Destiny 2 comes out.

Destiny, Bungie’s Shared World Shooter, was released back in September 2014 on Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The recently released expansion, The Taken King, was received with critical and commercial success, marking a step towards a better Destiny for players.
