Evolve To Pull The Plug On Its Dedicated Servers This September

Publisher 2k Games posted an official announcement that they would shut down their dedicated servers to the first-person shooter Evolve game by September.

Evolve’s dedicated servers will be shutting down on September 3, 2018. This means several game features will no longer be available, such as Hunt (Ranked), leaderboards, and the in-game store. Stage 2 will no longer be available on PC, and players will have plenty of opportunity to spend their in-game and virtual currency before the store is removed. Peer-to-peer multiplayer will still be available in Legacy Evolve on PC and console, and we’d like to stress that all players will retain all purchased DLC content, such as Hunters, Monsters, and skins.

The dedicated servers will stop operating, meaning no more ranked play, leaderboards and also in-game shop will be unavailable. Also affected is the free-to-play Evolve Stage 2 which will close down completely. Players will retain any DLC content they have paid for, like monsters, skins, and hunters. Players can still play with it, but merely through peer-to-peer matchmaking in Legacy Evolve, that’s the original version of the game.

Legacy Evolve includes Quick Play, which comprises all game modes besides ranked play, as well as custom matches and Evacuation mode, where you play a series of five matches as either a monster or a hunter. Players will also be able to play solo against AI opponents.
