Fallout 4 Official Mod Support Is Available Now For PC

Fallout 4‘s modding tools and Creation Kit is finally available for PC users with the Update 1.5 patch. Console users, on the other hand, will have to wait a little longer (specifically until June 4th) for mod support.

Bethesda released a developer clip that talks about the power of mods and how its players will use it to make great content for Fallout 4.

Those that are playing Steam can easily access the modding support update through the following steps below as provided by Kotaku’s Patricia Hernandez:

– Log into Steam
– Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
– Select Settings
– Select Betas
– A drop down menu will appear. Select beta.
– Select OK
– Wait a few minutes and Fallout 4 should update
– When done, Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [Beta] in your Library

Once you’ve done that, you can start creating assets for the game, be it items, weapons, characters, dialogues, campaign, and so much more.

And, to make using mods even more intuitive and less daunting, Bethesda made an interface that lists out all mods by favorites, offerings, and the ability to bookmark modders/mods.

The other big thing that modders will be excited for is the Creation Kit, which allows you to create content for Fallout 4 on a PC without the game itself. Here’s Bethesda describing the Creation Kit:

“If you want to try making Mods (and we think everybody should), the Creation Kit – the same tool that we used to create Fallout 4 – is a free download via the Bethesda.net launcher. You can check out the Creation Kit Wiki, our online documentation and help file, for more details and tips on how to make them.”

If you’re not one for mods, Bethesda is still making content for Fallout 4 with DLCs such as Automatron and Wasteland Workshop, which are available now.
