Far Cry New Dawn Will Contain Light RPG Mechanics

Far Cry 5 next sequel is the post-apocalyptic Far Cry New Dawn, and the game is getting RPG elements to its game’s mechanics.

Far Cry New Dawn storyline happens 17 years after the global nuclear catastrophe in Far Cry 5. Creative director Jean-Sebastien Decant said that players can craft items that contains levels. In addition to crafting weapons, players will have the option to upgrade their home base, unlocking upgrades and more.
“We pushed what we call the light RPG approach in the game to create more depth,” said Decant. “So you’ll be able to craft guns that have ranks, and these ranks they will be useful to fight against enemies that also have ranks.” This confirms the game has an emphasis on crafting weapons and elevating them to higher levels to contend with enemies that will also escalate in rank.
Ubisoft also added a new system for the home base, where players can invest resources and rally their inhabitants to earn more upgrades. For the Outposts, the new escalation system allows players to capture and pillage resources that are in it.

Far Cry New Dawn launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 15.
