Summer is closing out as we enter the end of September, and the last period before the year end holiday blitz is set to begin. Numerous titles—including Amazon Games’ New World MMO—have experienced delays from Covid-19 and a variety of other things, but some are almost ripe for harvesting from the digital game-fields. Let’s take a look at some of the games that is set to be released by the end of this September.
Diablo II: Resurrected
Diablo 2: Resurrected has arrived and many fans has been waiting in anticipation for its release. Whether you are in it for the nostalgia or a brand new experience, this is pretty much the original dungeon crawler, building on the foundations of the first game and just turning players loose to level up and haul out loot. For years it was the king atop the action RPG throne, and now it has made a comeback, now remastered.
With the game’s new coat of paint enabled, visible action stretches past Diablo II’s original 800 x 600 pixel resolution and into wider-ratio territory. How much wider? PC players get up to a 19:9 ratio—which leaves black boxes on the edges of the popular 21:9 widescreen format. Players can swap between the old graphics and the new graphics with the touch of a button in real-time, even as spells, effects, and abilities fire off. I spent a ton of time with this feature, experiencing jaw-dropping moments as I compared the old with the new in each Act.
This is the first time Diablo II can be played on a controller, and it’s smooth, intuitive, and responsive. Players can assign skills to buttons easily and should make for a slick console experience. While you will find it hard to pry me away from my mouse and keyboard in a Diablo game, this was the first time I’ve been tempted due to the ease of use. You can get your copy of Diablo II: Resurrected with Battlenet Gift Card, PlayStation Gift Card, Xbox Live GIft Card, and even on Nintendo with Nintendo eShop Card.

Pokemon Unite
Pokemon Unite is now available for download and is ready to play on Android and iOS. It’s the same free-to-start MOBA with the same maps and monsters the launched on the Nintendo Switch in July, though the Pokémon Unite team recently rolled out a new update in preparation for its mobile debut. In a post on the game’s official website, producer Masaaki Hoshino detailed the new features, starting with full cross-platform support and account linking capability across mobile devices and Nintendo Switch.
The game has also introduced Unite Squads, which allow Trainers to team up with squadmates. According to The Pokémon Company, Trainers can create their own squads with this feature or search for existing ones. Teams will be able to use “tags” to describe themselves to give people with the same interests a way to find them. The update brings a second battle pass with all-new cosmetic items, new in-game events, new held items and support for more languages, as well.
Because over five million Trainers preregistered for the mobile version of Pokémon UNITE before its release, every user who has played the mobile version by Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 7:59 a.m. PDT will receive the Unite license for Pikachu (which lets you play as the popular Pokémon) along with the special Festival Style: Pikachu Holowear. Not only that, but every Trainer will also receive 1,000 Aeos tickets, which can be exchanged for in-game items. If you already have the Unite license for Pikachu, you will receive Aeos coins instead.
Plus, players who link their Nintendo Account or Pokémon Trainer Club account in both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions of Pokémon UNITE can use the gifts received from the mobile version preregistration campaign on the Nintendo Switch version of the game as well.

New World
New World has always seemed like the Amazon game that’s most likely to succeed, though. In part, that’s because of its sensible design and scope. The past decade has seen a wave of Kickstarter-backed MMOs with huge promises: EVE Online-like levels of intrigue, with bustling dynamic worlds entirely run by players.
With one New World beta at its end, we now know a lot more about what we can expect from the MMO, whether it’s magic, combat, or how its factions, forts, and companies actually work. Now you’ll be able to try it yourself as the game is set to be released on the 28th September.
