Gears of War 4 Has Officially Gone Gold
Microsoft made an official announcement on Xbox Wire that Gears of War 4 has gone gold, which means the game is finally completed and production of the gold disc is currently underway before its launch date – October 11, 2016.
The head of Microsoft’s Xbox division Phil Spencer and The Coalition boss Rod Fergusson was joined by Microsoft’s Board of Directors to celebrate the occasion at the Microsoft Canada Excellent Centre in Vancouver.
Microsoft Studios acquired the rights to Gears of War franchise when Fergusson was a former director of production in Epic Games. He later join Microsoft and formed The Coalition to assist development on Gears of War 4.
This has been a real homecoming for me,,” The Coalition boss Rod Fergusson said. “Coming back to Xbox to lead a studio of talented people from around the world, all focused on Gears of War, and doing so in my home country of Canada in one of the best cities in the world for technology and entertainment has been a dream come true.”
Gears of War 4 will be available to the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC in the Xbox Play Anywhere program. The sci-fi shooter also supports Cross Play feature in versus mode, campaign and the new Horde 3.0 survival mode.
