Google Announces Stadia Gaming Platform At GDC 2019

Google announced a brand new cloud-based gaming platform called Stadia during its presentation at Game Developers Conference 2019 in San Francisco.

Google has always wanted to venture into the video gaming business and with Stavia, downloading video games might just be a thing of the past. The Netflix-like game streaming platform works on browsers, computers, TVs and mobile devices. Stadia is accessible on devices with a Chrome browser and internet connection.

Phil Harrison, the vice president and general manager for Google, unveiled the Stadia and demonstrated how easy for users to connect to a game within seconds. One of their employee demonstrated the seamless connectivity between playing from a Chromebook, then to a phone, and immediately playing it on PC, picking up where the game left off in real time. Stadia can stream games in 60 fps, with HDR and 4K resolution. Google has plans to enhance Stadia to achieve resolutions up to 8K and frame rates up to 120 fps in the future.
