GTA V gets slower on PC?
With the recent update of the Ill Gotten Gains Part 2 for Grand Theft Auto V’s, PC users have found that the game’s performance has declined.
The creators of the Los Santos Police Department First Response (LSPDFR) mods claim that the performance issues are “related to Rockstar which they have started to impose anti-modding protections.”
Rockstar Games have strengthened their protections against modding to protect players from an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing,” the post continues. They also mention that unauthorized game mods, may cause instability, or affect your game in other unforeseen ways.”
The problem being that, strengthening the protection is affecting all users, slowing down the speed at which GTAV access its scripts. According to LSPDFR estimation, some scripts requires about five times longer to complete than before, resulting in sluggish framerates.
Regarding this issue, a complaint is being raised to Rockstar’s support site, and a representative has responded with “We have received reports of lower framerate in GTAV and GTA Online after Title Update 1.28 on PC, and we are looking into these reports now.”
What’s next that Rockstar games will do to strengthened their anti-modding protections?
