When the rebooted Hitman continues to release content with episodic DLCs (Episode 4 Bangkok is the latest chapter), it was meant to serve as a litmus test for developer IO Interactive and publisher Square Enix.
It seems that using the episodic format works for the stealth action game as they might be planning to release two more seasons of episodic Hitman content.
The news came via a tweet from the Hitman official twitter account where another a fan asked about plans for a second season for the game. The account replied with “Of course, our plan is to have three seasons. Although Season Two hasn’t been confirmed yet.”
This indicates that IO Interactive plans to move forward with more episodic content, similar to how Telltale Games approaches their games, for future releases.

Season releases could work for Hitman if IO Interactive continues to improve the game with each new season. If they just rehash the same engine and mechanics over and over again, it not might be as enticing.
Hitman: Episode 1 was launched on March 11 and is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Episode 4 Bangkok is set to release on August 16th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
