Revealed today at EVE Fanfest in Iceland, Into the Abyss adds Abyssal Deadspace into EVE Online, tasking players to explore fresh territory that becomes more aggressive the more they explore.

Players will have the ability to enter Abyssal Deadspace from almost anywhere in New Eden. Once there the player} explores, survive increasingly dangerous environmental attacks and engage in hardcore battle with NPC enemies the Triglavian Collective.

Abyssal Deadspace is a single-player PvE experience only, essentially instance dungeons in space for EVE Online. Developer CCP is promising that this new gameplay will probably be just as unfamiliar to veterans of the space MMO as new players, with the reward for surviving in Abyssal Deadspace high value cargo, Mutaplasmid modules.

Players will be looking for the mutaplasmids, only found in Abyssal Deadspace. Mutaplasmids can be combined with existing modules to transform them into Abyssal modules, potentially increasing their power enormously or breaking them beyond repair. On the other hand, the challenges that players confront become harder the deeper they venture into Abyssal Deadspace and failure means death.

Into the Abyss arrives for EVE Online on May 29, 2018.
