Japan Pokémon Trainers Can Finally Play Pokémon GO Officially

After weeks of delays, the Asia release of Pokémon GO has finally begun with the birthplace of Pokémon, Japan, finally receiving the augmented game officially on iOS and Android.

The release came as a pleasant surprise for Japanese players as the app went live on Friday morning on both the Google Play Store and iOS store. With the release, a safety video was also released by Nintendo that warns players of the safety in playing the augmented reality game.

In addition to the release, Nintendo also officially revealed their partnership with McDonald’s whereby 400 of its restaurants will be designated Gyms with the remaining 2,500 outlets to become PokéStops.

Of course, with the release of Pokémon GO in Japan, it begs the question of when will it roll out to the rest of Asia, especially South East Asia where many are eagerly awaiting the game’s release. Hopefully, it’ll be sooner than later.
