When it comes to endgame content in Destiny, nothing beats the thrill and excitement that players experience when overcoming raids. Raids are Destiny‘s end level dungeons where players tackle on a series of challenges and bosses to receive greater loot. And Taken King’s raid, King’s Fall, has been lauded as the best so far, as countless Guardians have ventured forth and defeated the Taken King, Oryx.
Now, it’s time to go back to King’s Fall and challenge the Taken King again, albeit this time, with Bungie releasing the hard mode that will definitely test the mettle of Guardians.
Arriving on Friday, October 23rd, players looking to experience the hardest challenges yet, concocted by the Luke Smith and company can look forward to stepping into King’s Fall hard mode this weekend. While no details have been given about the changes in mechanics, bosses or stage wise, there are a few key points to remember before setting off with a Fireteam to tackle the raid.
If you’re expecting any major information or hints about the hard mode raid though, think again. All that Bungie was willing to share was as follows:
“Right about now, some of you are wondering what you can do to prepare. We won’t give any hints, but we’ll plot the difficulty incline. Recommended Light for Hard Mode is 300 – 320. The loot that will drop will be between 310 – 320. Gear up and mark your calendars.”
It looks like those Light Levels will still play an important role in surviving the raids. As of currently, the highest Light Level that most players can reach to is 310. After the new gear and equipment starts dropping, prepare to see the very best of the best Guardians starting to inch their way to the converted new Light Level cap of 320.
As for the raid gear itself, the community of Destiny players managed to figure out most of the armors and weapons that will drop in the raid based on patch files and leaked information. Destiny YouTuber Arekkz put together a video (embedded above) that nicely sums up what players can expect to drop when raiding King’s Fall hard mode. Some of them includes the four Harrowed set pieces for each class, four hard mode emblems, nine new exclusive weapons, a new raid ship, and possibly a Shader that’s exclusive in hard mode.
Destiny: The Taken King Expansion is available now on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The hard mode for the King’s Fall raid will be available on Friday, October 23rd.
