Lionhead Studios Might Be Closing And Fable Legends Is Cancelled
If you were looking forward to Lionhead Studio’s multiplayer free-to-play Fable Legends, then you’re going to be disappointed. Lionhead Studios and Microsoft has announced that development on Fable Legends has been cancelled.
The announcement comes from a forum post on Lionhead’s official forum. As of right now, the closed beta for Fable Legends will continue to be playable until April 13, however, no new players are expected to join in the closed beta. Lionhead will also begin giving refunds for those that purchase gold from their in-game bank.
Adding to that, Microsoft will also be closing down Denmark-based studio Press Play and subsequently cancelling the planned Xbox One title, Project Knoxville. With the cancellation of Fable Legends, the future of Lionhead Studio is currently unsure as discussion are being held with Microsoft on whether to keep the UK studio.
While it’s unfortunate for a game to be cancelled, we hope it’s not the last time we’ll see a Fable game.
