Looking into Genshin Impact’s Upcoming 2.6 Update
If there’s one thing that we love more about Genshin Impact’s beautifully drawn and designed characters is that they are consistent when it comes to content updates.
And like most of its updates, miHoYo enjoys giving its players a heads up of what to expect and what is coming our way, especially for a major update.
Set to be released on the 30th of March 2022, the 2.6 update will include a variety of content alongside some gameplay changes.
So let us dig a little deeper and see what is in store for us in the 2.6 “Zephyr of the Violet Garden” update.
A New Area to Explore: The Chasm
The Chasm isn’t exactly a “new” place but it has been inaccessible to players previously. Located on the west side of Lisha, Liyue; The Chasm has been the ultimate source of ores for the residents of Liyue and players will now get the opportunity to explore this massive land below.
Of course, a new area will also invite new challenges and enemies. The Chasm will also be a place where darkness is a foe so be sure you have gadgets like the Lumenstone Adjuvant to help illuminate your path.
The Chasm will also be the main site for you to complete the new Archon Quests that focuses on Dainsleif whilst revealing more about The Twins.
Kamisato Ayato will be a Playable Character
Another beautiful-elegant character is joining the fray. This time, the proud head of the Kamisato clan will be a playable character.
Combat wise, Ayato is skilled with the sword and uses the Hydro element as his main source of attack. Possessing powerful AOE moves like Kyouka and Suiyuu, Ayato is perhaps ideal for clearing out large hordes of enemies during domain challenges.
With a 5-star rarity, you could probably guess that Ayato will be a powerhouse of a character! He is fully capable of dishing out high output damage due to his Namisen stacks and Normal attack buff from his Suiyuu ability.
New Equipment and Weapons
And as miHoYo introduces a new character, a new weapon dedicated for the character will follow suit, alongside new artifacts as well.
The new weapon dedicated for Ayato is:
Haran Tsukishiro Futsu
When equipped, the user will gain a 24% All Elemental DMG Bonus. Party members who land their Normal attacks would gain Wavespike stacks. Once a character uses an Elemental Skill with this weapon equipped, the stacks will be used to access Ripping Upheaval.
Materials required for Ascension are:
– Narukami Series
– Handguard Pieces
– Statuette Pieces
New artifacts that will be added are:
Echoes of an Offering
2-piece bonus: Gain +18% ATK
4-piece bonus: Normal attacks will have a chance of triggering Valley Rite that will increase your normal damage output by 70%. Each time Valley Rite doesn’t trigger, the chance of it happening increases.
Vermillion Hereafter
2-piece bonus: Gain +18% ATK
4-piece bonus: Character gains Nascent Light effect after using their Elemental Burst, increasing their ATK by 8%. If the character’s HP is lowered, the ATK will further be increased by 10%.
New Enemies and Boss
The opening of The Chasm has also called forth new enemies for Genshin players to face. The enemies that will be added in 2.6 are:
– Black Serpent Knight: Windcutter
– Floating Fungus
– Oozing Concretions
Besides that, there will also be a new colossal boss located in the depths of The Chasm called the Ruin Serpent and will drop rewarding loot items if the player is capable of defeating it.
Hues of the Violet Garden
The “Hues of the Violet Garden ” will be a new seasonal event added in the update which will invite famous poets across Tevyat to attend this festival.
This event will feature 4 mini-games:
The Moon and Stars
Players are required to take pictures of landscapes for poetry purposes.
Clash of Lone Blades
A sword match that will allow players to hone their sword skills.
The Floral Courtyard
Players are required to help Ayaka with her floral decorations.
Inscribe Theater Mechanicus
A recurring mini-game that will introduce new mechanics.
Xingqiu will also be a free character during this event.
