Mass Effect Trilogy ‘Likely’ To Get A Remastered Edition
Since Mass Effect Andromeda is still far from being released, the most that Mass Effect fans can do to get their Mass Effect fix is to just replay the original trilogy, unless, you don’t have your last-generation console anymore.
In which case, you’ll probably have to wait for a remastered release from EA. However, based on an interview with EA studios executive vice president Patrick Soderlund at Game Informer, we might be getting a Mass Effect trilogy remastered edition soon.
In the interview, Game Informer approached Soderlund on the idea of revisiting the original trilogy for current generation console and while his response doesn’t outright confirm an official remastering, he does allude it to be a “likely” scenario.
“What’s changed is that there is proof in the market that people want it, maybe more than there was when we spoke,” Soderlund tells Game Informer. “There were some that did it before, but I think there is even more clear evidence that this is something that people really want. The honest answer is that we are absolutely actively looking at it. I can’t announce anything today, but you can expect us most likely to follow our fellow partners in Activision and other companies that have done this successfully.”
While it’s uncertain when EA might choose to remaster the Mass Effect trilogy, it’s more of a matter of “when” rather than “if”, we’ll be getting the chance to return to Mass Effect on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Mass Effect Andromeda is expected for release in Q1 2017 and will take place “hundred of years” after the events of Mass Effect 3.
