Microsoft Removes ‘High Fidelity VR’ from Project Scorpio Website

Project Scorpio is Microsoft’s next upcoming Xbox, which is scheduled for a release later this year. Compared to current available consoles in the market, Scorpio will be the most powerful console ever built with a 6 teraflop GPU to deliver true 4K gaming, high-fidelity VR experiences and greater graphic fidelity.

“When Project Scorpio ships later this year it will be the most powerful console ever built with a 6 teraflop GPU to deliver true 4K gaming, high-fidelity VR experiences, and greater graphic fidelity. We have nothing additional to share at this time,” the spokesperson said.

Microsoft recently updated the promotional site for Project Scorpio and NeoGAF noticed that the “hi-fidelity VR” is missing from the site, suggesting that Microsoft’s direction for VR might have changed or they’re planning something else in the works for Scorpio.

When Project Scorpio was announced at E3 2016, virtual reality was the key feature for this console.

Gamespot reported that a Microsoft spokeperson has clarify that Project Scorpio will still offer high-fidelity VR experiences, without providing any reasons on why the references of VR was erased from the site.
