Monster Hunter: World is finally released on Steam platform for $59.99 and the game has even achieved a new record as the most played Japanese game on Steam compared to other releases.
Capcom has spent several months getting the PC port ready after the title was launched to the console for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One back in January. Just hours after the game goes live on Steam, it has crushed the record for the biggest launch of a Japanese game in Steam’s history, which dethroned Dark Souls 3 which recorded 129,831 concurrent players back in March 2016. Monster Hunter was way above that figure, with a peak of 239,779 players based on Steamcharts, considering the fact that the game is out for seven months.
Monster Hunter: World has sold more than 8 million copies on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it is likely to sell even more now since it is now available on Steam.
