MSI Notebooks x i-Rocks Gaming Equipment Event
News Info:
MY Dota Community Portal and MSi Malaysia was proud to present the inaugural Dota2 Solo Championship held over three days from 29 – 31 August 2014, in conjunction with Malaysia IT Fair at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre. The GP60 2PE gaming notebook worth RM 2999, sponsored by MSi Malaysia was offered as the Grand Prize.
The championship has 16 finalists out of a total of 120 participants, selected from three qualifiers organized by MY Dota Community Portal, MSi and Orange eSports respectively.
Finalists were first allocated into groups of four for the group stage. The two strongest players of each group proceed to single elimination, fighting their way to the Grand Prize.
After intense battles, Siah Cheon Yi took the title of the championship, bagging home the gaming notebook. On winning the championship, Siah remarked that he prefers to be “the next Insane Ballon” (his in-game moniker) rather than fitting into the mold of current professional players. Besides that, he is known for being the top student of his school.
Matthew Tan Jee Ming and Mohd Haris bin Razali each took the title of 1st and 2nd runner up.
Equipments used during the championship were sponsored by MSi Malaysia and i-Rocks Malaysia.
