Shovel Knight the popular platformer has been confirmed for a release and is going to be published on the Nintendo Switch, with added modes as well as new name and cost.
Yacht Club Games is renaming Shovel Knight to Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove in order to offer each campaign as separate standalone titles for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Players who owns the initial title will automatically get the Treasure Trove collection and their current copy upgraded free of charge to the new version. It will comprise the primary game, the Plague Knight effort Plague of Shadows, and also the new Specter of Torment campaign featuring Specter Knight.

Somewhere along the way, the game has simply gotten too big! It’s difficult for many players out there to find everything or even know that these campaigns exist. We believe that providing standalone versions will provide better entry points for different types of players and allow more people to continue enjoying each adventure on their next favorite platform.”

The Battle Mode (which features competitive four-player multiplayer mode) and the King Knight campaign will be available at a later date.
