Nintendo Switch’s Easter Egg Tribute To The Late Satoru Iwata

Nintendo has came up with an interesting way to pay tribute to the late Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, by embedding the game ‘Flog’ or ‘Golf’ in reverse for the NES into every Nintendo Switch. Golf was programmed by the late Satoru Iwata, the former Nintendo president who died in 2015.

When the discovery was first made, the hacker in question said that there’s an unofficial way to launch it, but couldn’t actually pin down how regular owners could do it; until now.

Some hackers discovered that unlocking the game requires user to perform a certain gesture with the Joy-cons and is limited to one day annually: July 11th, the day Iwata passed away due to cancer. If your Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet before, chances are you won’t be able to play it for the rest of the other 364 days.

You won’t be able to force change the internal date, unless, you purchase a new console and not connect it to the internet or wait around until next July.
