We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month. A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year.
There’s no particular date given on the start of the retro console preorders and there isn’t any retailers list available yet. The SNES Classic Edition, is a small version of the original Super Nintendo Entertainment System, complete with controllers that match the original. The company also promises that there will be a significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores, to counter the overwhelming demand for this console.
The console will include 21 games, including the unreleased Star Fox 2, and will retail for $79.99 when it’s available on September 29th.
