Nintendo’s Special Edition Famicom Mini Is Currently In Works

Nintendo is releasing a gold and red-colored Famicom Mini in Japan which comes packed with 20 manga-based games. Initially release in 1983, the console is the first Japanese version of the NES.

The special edition of the Family Computer will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, which prints serial manga titles like One Piece and Boruto. Most of the retro games are from the late 1980s and early 1990s and the console is pre-loaded with games like Ankoku Shinwa: Yamato Takeru Densetsu, Captain Tsubasa, Kinnikuman: Muscle Tag Match, Sakigake!! Otokojuku Shippu Ichi Gou Sei, Famicom Jump: Hero Retsuden and lots more. The Special Edition Famicom Mini will cost ¥7,980.

Nintendo released a Famicom Mini back in 2016 that mostly had the same games as the NES Classic. The console was preloaded with 8-bit games and used controllers hardwired to the console. The special edition Famicom Mini will be available in Japan on July 7th.
