NotGTAV No longer on Steam Store
Last week NotGTA V proved to be a hit when the developer released it on Steam Store. Now this hilarious parody of a games has been brought down from the Steam Store due to copyright issue.
The developer NotGames wrote in a blog post, Valve apparently removed the game from Steam after receiving a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) copyright claim.
This is what the Valve employee replied to the Developers:
“Sorry about the confusion. Whoever is the main point of contact (probably the person that signed the SDA) should have an e-mail with details.
An official DMCA (copyright) claim was filed against your product. And part of the legal process for dealing with such formal claims is to take down the product in question until the claim has been resolved.
The e-mail sent will have details and instructions on how to proceed. Maybe check your spam filter if you don’t see such an e-mail.”
NotGames should have expected this copyright claim coming. Apparently the developers have changed their game name from NotGTA V to NotDMCA V. We hope that NotGames would be able to bring back NotGTA V/Not DMCA to Steam Store.
