OffGamers Gaming Fest – Breezy Autumn (Round 2)

If you’re looking to expand your game library this autumn season, we’ve got plenty of game recommendations just for you, perfect for chilling at home. Check out the latest Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch, or try out some of the highly rated simulation games.

Splatoon 3 (Release Date: 9 Sept 2022)

Splatoon 3 is Nintendo’s version of the Squid Game, because you can literally transform into a squid. Splatter each other and your surroundings with your ink, claim your territory with your team’s color! The gameplay is very smooth as you shoot paint, and then dive into the ink as a squid (or octopus). It’s not fun without the mess! The more you play, the more modes and weapons you will unlock. There’s also a new, surprisingly brilliant single-player mode that turns the ink-splatting gameplay into a series of interesting puzzles, if you want to take a break from the chaotic co-op.

Two Point Campus (Release Date: 9 Aug 2022)

Yet another hugely successful simulation game after The Sims. You start with a tight budget, juggling student happiness while making use of the plot of space that you are given. While in Sandbox mode, you can build the school as you like on any of the 12 different themed plots. Each campus is introduced through a story-driven scenario that includes its own special rules. You only have to clear five of these to unlock all 12 maps in sandbox mode, so give it a go.

Human: Fall Flat (Release Date: 22 July 2016)

Don’t worry, you won’t be taking any fall damage in this game. Your guy will waddle his way up and pick himself up. The puzzle mechanics aren’t the toughest part of this game, controlling your guy is. The controls are made to be deliberately tricky, your right and left hands are controlled individually by the right and left mouse buttons. You can mess up which is which fairly simply. The controls are supposed to be bad, for the comedic effect. Don’t take the game too seriously and you’ll have a blast.

House Flipper (Release Date: 17 May 2018)

Always wanted to remodel your house? Now you can in House Flipper! Players start from humble beginnings in House Flipper, performing simple cleaning jobs for clients to earn cash for their first home purchase. You will also unlock different tools and some quirky perks, like consuming less paint or the ability to identify dirt on your mini-map. After you’ve saved up enough money, you can forgo the set jobs and buy your own fixer-upper on the open market. The houses come in a variety of different sizes, prices, and levels of disrepair.

Farming Simulator 22 (Release Date: 21 Nov 2021)

Faming Simulator 22 definitely isn’t the first game of the series, but if you’re looking for a nice simulation game to relax to, give this a go. The goal is the same as ever, expand your farm and harvest your crops to make money. Mastering the supply chain in this game is the toughest part, apart from raising livestock and caring for your crops. The menus provide a lot of details about what items are most desired by what parts of the local industry and at what part of the year. Plant the wrong crop at the wrong time, and you’ll end up losing money, something no farmer can afford. If you’re struggling, you can call in your friends to help in multiplayer mode. This game emulates what a famer would face in the business quite realistically.
