With the start of Summer Game Fest right around the corner, it is revealed that One Piece Odyssey will be featured as a world premiere title.

As the acclaimed One Piece manga continues, many eagerly await the arrival of One Piece Odyssey, the recently announced anime JRPG by Bandai Namco. Fortunately, Bandai Namco is preparing to share news about One Piece Odyssey later this week.
On behalf of Bandai Namco, Keighley announced One Piece Odyssey will be present during the Summer Game Fest showcase. One Piece Odyssey is labeled as one of the “world premieres” coming soon and the showcase will provide an exclusive early look into the JRPG. One Piece Odyssey appears to be the first game confirmed by Bandai Namco for the 2022 edition of Summer Game Fest. More games from participating partners will be announced leading up to the Summer Game Fest showcase on June 9.
In One Piece Odyssey, the Straw Hat Pirates led by Monkey D. Luffy are heading on a brand-new adventure with an original story. The JRPG features new characters and enemies designed by the legendary manga author, Eiichiro Oda. In addition, Tales of series and Dark Souls series composer Motoi Sakuraba lends his musical expertise to the official soundtrack of One Piece Odyssey.
One Piece Odyssey has been in active development for a number of years as many await a new JRPG adventure with the popular Straw Hats crew. With a development team comprising Bandai Namco, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl developer ILCA, and the mastermind behind One Piece, the new JRPG aims to be an authentic experience. The One Piece series received a plethora of games over the years and One Piece Odyssey marks the series debut on next-gen consoles.
Although the game does not follow a story set in the One Piece manga, One Piece Odyssey should provide a compelling experience for those closely reading the manga or watching the anime. Bandai Namco should take the strengths of One Piece and translate it into a well-thought-out JRPG for the ages.
