Operation Skull Rain Is The Next DLC Pack For Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft’s tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege will be getting its third big DLC pack with Operation Skull Rain. A launch trailer was posted by Ubisoft on their YouTube page which shows off the big content that’s coming to the DLC.

In Operation Skull Rain, players will receive two new BOPE operators, a new map, new game mode, and more weapon attachments, among other things.

The two new BOPE operators are Tania “Caveira” Pereira and Vicente “Capitão” Souza. Caveira is a Defender with a special ability that lets her sneak up to an enemy and interrogate him or her to reveal the locations of other enemies in a map. Capitão, on the hand, is an attacker who comes with a special crossbow that can shoot either smoke grenades or asphyxiation darts.

A new map, called Favela, will be coming to Rainbow Six Siege. Located in the slums of Brazil, Favela combines narrow streets with high vantage points and is the most destructible map to date by Ubisoft.

Finally, a new mode will also be included in the Operation Skull Rain DLC. The Tactical Realism mode tasks players with playing on ‘hardcore’ rules. This basically boils down to no HUDs (except for a few exceptions i.e round timer, compass, etc.), no enemy marking, no kill confirmation, and a more realistic ammo management. Though, the mode is still in beta so expect Ubisoft to continually tweak it.

There’s also a myriad of weapon skins and attachments coming to the DLC as well. One thing to note, The new Favela map will be available for free for all players on August 2nd, even for those without the season pass.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Operation Skull Rain will be available for season pass holders on August 2nd, and will be available for purchase on August 9th.
