Outlast 2 Gets Delayed With A 2017 Release Window
Horror fans, it looks like you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer for Outlast 2, the sequel to Red Barrels’ first-person survival horror, as the developer has announced a delay for the game on their Facebook page.
Previously slated for a 2016 release, the follow-up to the 2013 survival horror has now been pushed back to a Q1 2017 release. Red Barrels shared the reasoning behind the game’s delay with the following statement.
“We want you to know that we listen to your feedback, we see your excitement and we know you care about or work. Our mission as an indie studio is to deliver to you the best, most terrifying, most fulfilling experience possible. That’s why we’re talking just a little bit more time to make sure our vision for Outlast 2 is in no way compromised and is the experience you deserve.”
While delays are not fun, it’s definitely a better alternative than the developers releasing a rushed and unpolished product. Hopefully, Red Barrels won’t run into any more delays and we get a concrete release date for Outlast 2 sooner than later.
Outlast 2 is targeted for Q1 2017 release and will come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
