Overwatch Season 2 Is Live And Free Play Weekend Is Coming To Consoles
Blizzard is ready to bring back the Competitive Play to Overwatch with its second season and for console gamers, you’ll get to play the game for free with the “Overwatch Free Weekend” on September 9 – 12!
The Season 2 of Overwatch‘s Competitive Play is live now on PC and Xbox One, ahead of its September 6 release. Unfortunately, PlayStation 4 owners will have to wait a bit for the new season as it’s currently delayed. However, Game Director Jeff Kaplan says that Season 2 will be making its way to PSN “ASAP”, so hopefully you won’t have to wait long.
In addition to the new season, Blizzard will also be making Overwatch free with its “Overwatch Free Weekend” that will run from September 9th until the 12th. During the free weekend, you’ll get access to all the heroes, maps, and modes, and if you buy Overwatch: Origins Edition, you’ll keep all the progress you’ve made along with any loot you received from the Loot Box.
To participate in the free play weekend, search for “Overwatch Free Weekend” on PSN or “Overwatch: Origins Edition Free Weekend” on Xbox Live. Note that you’ll need an Xbox Live Gold account to play it on Xbox.
